Prepare to be swept away by cinematic grandeur. This month, we honour the legendary David Lean, a filmmaker celebrated for turning sweeping stories into timeless art. We’ll be showing Doctor Zhivago, a visually lush and emotionally stirring tale of love and loss set against the turbulence of the Russian Revolution. And then there’s Lawrence of Arabia, a desert odyssey of epic proportions that redefined what cinema could be. We begin with Episode VII: The Force Awakens, reigniting the galaxy’s spark with new heroes and old legends. Then it’s Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, a bold and divisive tale of destiny and defiance. We close with Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, bringing the epic saga to its dramatic finale. Whether you’re a Jedi, a Sith, or somewhere in between, this is one movie marathon you don’t want to miss.

Midweek just got a lot scarier. Every Wednesday night at 10 PM, we bring you a fresh dose of fear with our Wednesday Night Screams series favourite at Neelsie Cinema. On the 2d of July, things get bloody with Jennifer’s Body, a darkly comic horror film filled with teen drama. On the 9th, Signs creeps in with its eerie quiet tension and looming extraterrestrial threat. Then it’s time for a classic on the 16th with The Omen (1976), where the innocent face of a child hides a terrifying truth. The Happening follows on the 23rd, a chilling tale of an invisible force turning nature against humanity. And to close the month, we bring you 28 Weeks Later on the 30th, a fast-paced, heart-racing sequel in the terrifying world of the infected. Join us if you’re brave enough.
