This month, we’re diving into the works of a legendary filmmaker, celebrating Easter with some sweet and festive screenings, and bringing back fan-favourite events like Cinemate and Wednesday Night Screams. 🎥 Director Spotlight: Stanley Kubrick.
This month, our cinematic spotlight is on the iconic Stanley Kubrick, a filmmaker known for his distinct visual style, thought-provoking themes, and mastery of various genres. Join us as we showcase three of his most celebrated films: The Shining (1980), a chilling adaptation of Stephen King's novel that remains one of the most terrifying horror films of all time; A Clockwork Orange (1971), a dystopian masterpiece that delves into themes of free will and societal control; and Full Metal Jacket (1987), a raw and gripping portrayal of the Vietnam War. Easter weekend is all about family, fun, and, of course, chocolate! We’ve put together a lineup of films perfect for the occasion. Hop will bring an animated adventure filled with humor and holiday spirit, while Rise of the Guardians (2012) presents a magical story of legendary heroes protecting childhood wonder. For those with a sweet tooth, Chocolate and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) will transport you to worlds where chocolate is at the heart of the story. This month’s lineup includes Arcadian on 2 April, Night Swim on 9 April, Pearl (2022) on 16 April, Maxxxine on 23 April, and Night of the Hunted (2023) on 30 April.
