🎥 Our Curator - Wiaan Laing 🎥

He is a distinguished dancer, teacher, and choreographer, celebrated for his dynamic performances and innovative choreography.

Renowned for his award-winning talents and his role as a DHL Dancer for the Stormers Rugby team, Wiaan's viral 2022 performance highlighted his exceptional skills. At Stellenbosch Dance Academy, he inspires students with his passion and expertise, while his choreographic brilliance has shone in productions like "The Addams Family" and "Pinocchio”.

🎥[12 June] Movie Night - Lights, Camera, Action!

Experience a double dose of action and adventure at Neelsie Cinema on June 12th as we present the "Charlie's Angels" movies! Enjoy an exhilarating movie night featuring the dynamic trio of kick-ass detectives. The fun starts at 5:30 PM with the first "Charlie's Angels" film, followed by the thrilling "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" at 8:30 PM. It's the perfect opportunity to gather your friends and enjoy back-to-back excitement and entertainment.

🎥 Wednesday Night Screams – A Frightening June Awaits!

Attention horror movie enthusiasts! Get ready for June's Wednesday Night Screams, where every Wednesday promises a night of spine-chilling terror. Mark your calendars for a month filled with thrills and chills. Kicking off on June 5th at 10 PM, we have "Annabelle: Creation," followed by the eerie "The Nun 2" on June 12th. Brace yourself for Jordan Peele's unsettling "Nope" on June 19th, and we'll wrap up the month with the cult classic "Jennifer's Body" on June 26th. Don't miss out on these terrifying tales at Neelsie Cinema!

🎥 Did someone say Staycation?

We are absolutely thrilled to unveil our exciting Staycation program at Neelsie Cinema! This unique initiative will feature films that will keep all kids, no matter their age - engaged and excited! We will screen three different themed films, ranging from animation, prescribed school books, and of course - the typical teenage films. This Staycation will be one to remember!

Program Highlights:

Duration: June 14th - July 9th [Excluding 22 & 23 June]

Morning Screenings: 

Cartoon Screening (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) 

Perfect for pre schoolers to kick-start their day with delightful cartoons.

Animation & Kids Friendly Movies (10:00 AM): 

A daily rotation of beloved movies to keep the little ones entertained, great for primary school kids. 

Afternoon Screening (1:00 PM):

Prescribed books on screen

Films suggested by our local schools, teachers, and students.

Late afternoon Screenings (5:30 PM):

Everyone’s fun favourite films 

A selection catering to the interests of the young generation, featuring a mix of comedy, adventure, and drama.

🎥 Exciting News: The Launch of CINEMATE!

The Launch of CINEMATE: This platform is dedicated to all solo filmmakers, whether professional or aspiring. If you have an idea, are in the process of shooting, or have completed your film, you are welcome here. CINEMATE offers a space to be inspired, ask questions, and network with like-minded creators. Curated by Juan de Swardt, this event is the perfect opportunity to connect and grow in your filmmaking journey. Please note, the event is sold out due to high demand.
