🎥  Our Curator: Daagliks Stellenbosch🎥

This December, we’re partnering with Daagliks Stellenbosch, a beloved local Instagram platform dedicated to showcasing the hidden gems, foodie favourites, and must-visit spots in Stellenbosch. Having previously joined us for events like Op My Eish and Boer Soek ‘n Vrou, they are the ideal curators to help us celebrate the season's beauty and vibrancy. Expect a special selection of films that capture the magic of community, connection, and festive joy.

🎥 Barbie Day – A Dreamy Movie Marathon! 🌸

On 12 December, step into a world of pink and nostalgia with our Barbie Day movie marathon! Start your day with childhood classics that defined generations, including Barbie favourites like Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper and Barbie and the Diamond Castle. End the evening with the latest global sensation, Barbie (2023), —a perfect blend of whimsy and modern storytelling. Gather your friends, bring your Barbie dolls, and join us for a magical day of empowerment, laughter, and fun!

🎥 Staycation Cinema: 9–15 December 🎥

We are hosting our annual Staycation Cinema for schoolchildren staying home this December! From 9 to 15 December, enjoy daily screenings of children’s classics and family favourites. Featuring beloved movies like Shrek, Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon, The Lion King, and more, it’s the perfect escape for families looking to create lasting memories during the holidays.

🎥 Wednesday Night Screams – December Horror Features 🕯️

This December, our Wednesday Night Screams series will keep you on the edge of your seat with two spine-chilling films. Bagman (2024) 4 December 2024. 10 pm, directed by Colm McCarthy, follows Patrick McKee (Sam Claflin) as he confronts a sinister figure from his childhood that now threatens his family, offering a terrifying journey into the unknown. Meanwhile, Immaculate 11 December 2024. 10pm, directed by Michael Mohan and starring Sydney Sweeney, tells the story of Cecilia, a devout woman who uncovers dark and horrifying secrets after being invited to an Italian convent. 

 🎥 Christmas Cheer and Closing Dates 🎄

We will spread holiday cheer by screening Christmas movies until 16 December. Enjoy timeless classics like Home Alone, Elf, and The Polar Express, and get ready to cozy up with family and friends for a festive cinema experience.

Important Note: Neelsie Cinema will close for the holidays from 16 December and reopen on 10 January. Be sure to catch your favourite films before then!
